ROME ALEXANDER
What's up y'all, Rome here. I'm 25, and have been living in Boston for 3 years now. Outside of tunes, I work for a non-profit helping financially struggling Americans. Big movie buff, and very into sports. I played basketball in college and still play, but I love playing/watching almost all sports (Cavs and Saints fyi).
I first got into music when our mom tried to teach us the piano, but I hated it then (sorry ma). As a kid I was always writing poetry, and it wasn't until I started experimenting with putting those words to the piano that I started the journey of becoming a songwriter.
Since those early days, music has become my passion and a major driving force in my life. I'm happiest when creating. Even when I'm not, you can often catch me seeing music live or listening to it, both from a learning perspective and because I just enjoy it so damn much (check out my playlists on Spotify!). Music has had a profound impact on my life in so many ways, and I don't know where I'd be without it. My ultimate goal is to have even a fraction of that impact on others. If we can do that, I'll be good.
Rederic
Hey everyone, I’m Rederic. I am 23 years old and have loved music as long as I can remember. Surrounded by incredible musical inspirations, growing up I played guitar, drums, and piano. I only truly found my passion through combining those skills and introducing myself to the world of music production. When I was 14 I fell in love with electronic music production and haven’t looked back since.
Over nine short years, music has taken me all the way from putting together mash-ups on an old laptop in high school, to exploring production software in my dorm room in college, and finally to working with some of the most influential labels and tastemakers of this era.
Though music is always evolving, it will always have the power to change people’s lives the same way it has done with mine. My brother and I are so excited to be a part of this new chapter in our journey – The Keymakers.
Our Story
Meet The Keymakers - the duo musical project from Rome Alexander and Rederic. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, the two brothers now live together in Boston. Though very close from an early age, the two worked on music almost completely independently until 2016. Since working together, however, they have made strides as artists in a short time. Under the direction of Jesse Christophr and the AMAG artist collective, founded and headed by industry leader Anshuman “AM” Sharma, the two have been developing their artistry and writing and producing for others, which has included traveling each month to both Miami and Toronto for studio sessions with other talented musicians and producers.
Just a few months after they began collaborating, the duo was working with high-profile artists. While they continue to write and produce for others, working closely with the AMAG team, the two have now committed full-time to their career as a duo and are pouring all of their best creative energy into it.
“We’ve got so much music in our heads that we want to get out to the masses,” said Rederic. “We’ve worked to hone a unique sound, and we’ll be experimenting with a bunch of different styles and genres that I think will surprise a lot of people”. Rome added that “‘Our first three songs are a great taste of what we’re trying to do, but we’re so excited about our growth over the past year and can't wait to share what we've been working on in the end of 2018".
